Choose the route you already use
Put the spot near the entrance you actually use, while keeping exits and walking routes clear. A hook, tray or small shelf may be enough. Avoid storing keys where they are visible or reachable from outside.
Give each item a clear place
Decide what belongs there and what does not. If several people share the space, choose separate hooks or labelled areas. Keep only the everyday items at the entrance so the system does not become a pile of bags from every season.
Test the return habit
The important moment is arriving home, not leaving. Put the item away before starting another task if practical. When something repeatedly misses the landing spot, change the location or make access easier. A system that depends on moving three objects to reach one hook is unlikely to last. Review after a week and remove anything unused. Success means fewer avoidable searches, not an entrance that looks permanently ready for a catalogue photograph.
