Turn a reading intention into a place and a time
“Read more” is an intention without a starting point. A small reading routine becomes easier when the book, place and moment are already chosen.

Lower the setup cost
Put one book where you are likely to sit for a few quiet minutes. Choose something you actually want to read, not a title selected to impress an imaginary audience. An audiobook or accessible format may suit your day better than print.
Use a small opening
Read a page or a short section after an existing event, such as making tea. Stop when you need to. A small opening is useful because it lets the routine survive busy days without requiring a long uninterrupted session.
Keep permission to change
If a book repeatedly feels like an obligation, try another one. You can also change the time if the chosen slot is always interrupted. Track titles or memorable ideas only if you enjoy doing so; a streak should not become the main purpose. The goal is a reading practice that fits your attention and circumstances. Finishing fewer books with interest may be more satisfying than rushing through a target that turns leisure into a scorecard.
